Kerala is homing to several nature reserves. Nature lovers can explore these tours to South India state plan, its rich fauna. The Western Ghats mountains are a habitat for various flora and fauna. The big game parks of Kerala are:
Peiryar Wildlife Sanctuary
Around the Peiryar Lake in Idukki district of Kerala, Wildlife Peiryar
Sanctuary was once hunting ground of the Maharajas of Travancore. It is now declared as a national park. During a tour of this park may be the herds of elephants, tigers, leopards to explore, monkeys, nilgai, sloth bear, porcupine, the Malabar Flying Squirrel and many birds, including the Great Indian Hornbill. One can tour the park from December to April.
Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary
Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary is, home to elephants, deer, gaur, tiger, wild boars and various birds, including jungle fowl, woodpeckers and kingfishers.
Thattekad Bird Sanctuary
Bird lovers can pack up to Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, which is in Munnar. It is also known as Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary and home to more than 200 species of birds known. This sanctuary house birds like Malabar Trogon, Common Gray Hornbill and Malabar Hornbill.
The other famous and worth visiting shrines are Chinnar reserve, Parambikulam reserve, Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary, Muthanga nature reserve, bird sanctuary Kadalundi, Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Silent Valley National Park and Eravikulam National Park.
Flora and Fauna in Kerala Sanctuaries
Kerala Nature Reserves are homing to numerous animals, reptiles and flora. The main animals are elephants, gaur, sambar, deer, wild dogs, cats, jungle, tigers, wild boars, sloth bears, leopards, lion tailed macaque, Nilgiri Tahr, grizzled giant squirrels, Hanuman langurs, peacocks, star tortoises, wild dogs , civet cats, the Atlas moth, bonnet, macaques, Loris, mongoose, bears, barking deer, pangolins, bison, etc.
The main floras are teak, Maruthu, karimaruthi, rosewood, venteak, Bengal, chadachi, mazhukanjiram, bamboo, neem, nanjanathi, sandal, Dendrocalamus, marythu, vaka, mulluvenka, elavu, manjakadambu pala, Vembu, aval, 171 species of grasses, 143 species of orchids, etc.

Everybody should get and explore the wonders of wild life habitates. Kumarakom is really a wonderful place to spend holidays. Though it is famous for its back waters ride ayurvedic treatment rejuvenation camps, there is a bird sanctuary too. I Love kerala for the un politicised and un polluted nature.

I enjoy visiting natural place.Waking on the beach in the morning is really relaxing.And I like animals too,it's hardly to see them if you only live in the cities.It's good place to spend your holiday
